Setting Limitations for Strong Boundaries ~

“Extravagant behavior and lack of restraint has you into a state of difficulty. If you are now feeling regret over this and not busy placing the blame elsewhere, you will avoid further mistakes.” ~ The I Ching Workbook, R.L. Wing

When people choose to blame others and you happen to be in their crossfires, you are liable to be dumped upon. This tendency is especially common among highly sensitive people.

In this context, when someone is being “dumped upon,” it means they are consciously or unconsciously taking on responsibility for other people’s feelings, karma, behavior, etc. This tendency is unfortunate and can cause great suffering for the “dumpee”. In contrast, it creates quite a bit of freedom for the “dumper”. In fact, a dumper is often feeling overwhelmed and is unconsciously looking for someone to dump upon to get relief. Unfortunately, some people do it on purpose to further their quest for power and control.

This is a form of power based on co-dependence, not integrity.

If you feel you are in such a situation and want to do something constructive to help yourself, you can go through this Transformation Game on Setting Limitations. Simply relax and gaze at the Circles while contemplating the questions or positive affirmations that go with them. Your intuition will come forward and give you the help that you seek.

Begin By Gaging Your Willingness to Change:

If you’re willing to examine your personal habits and are setting LIMITATIONS for yourself that are healthy and life affirming, you can learn to avoid being a dumpee. To get started, ask yourself:

“Have I been willing to let other people dump on me? Have I allowed it to happen a lot in the past?” 

“Am I willing to stop this tendency in myself?”

If you have a tendency to be caught off guard by others, now is the time to set stronger LIMITATIONS.

Ask your Self: Am I currently experiencing situations where there’s a lot of incompetence, argumentative people,  breakups in friendship or family relations, refusal to participate in cooperative ventures or poor health due to toxins in the environment?

If so, setting LIMITATIONS is definitely called for.

In cases such as these, forceful displays of power will absolutely backfire. Do nothing to confront people in regard to those particular situations and be very conservative with any investment of energy, time or money. Doing so would probably result in loss.

The best thing to do when dealing with the “dumper/dumpee” dynamic is to accept what’s happening and take care of yourself very sensibly. Be generous and kind to those you care about and trust, while you stay out of their business. Find new avenues of behavior that genuinely support your well-being.

In these situations, engaging in a co-dependent exchange of emotions will backfire. That’s because whenever you’re caught up in another person’s emotional turmoil, you’re in an excellent energetic position to be dumped upon.

To help yourself, gaze softly at this symbol and imagine that your karmic seeds for harmful or co-dependent habits are burning up.

“I purify my karmic tendency towards self-destruction. I now make a commitment to my higher good.”

“I release my tendency to buy into pity, self-pity, shame, guilt or blame.”

Release Fixations:

You may be experiencing shock that’s interfering with your ability to be clear about the true source of your weakened boundaries. Relax and use this affirmation to help you release whatever you’re fixated on.

“I let go of guilt trips, mind games or other fixations that cause me harm. “

“I let all rigid thoughts, memories and recurrent images soften and melt away.”

You can use this Circle like a telescope to help you find fixations in your mind and energy field. Once you find one, use the symbol to send a laser beam to break it apart or melt it like an iceberg in the Sun. There may be more than one.

Next, scan your body and energy field to do the same with any denser, hardened energies. You can even do it for the immediate space around you.

Go within and access what’s really important to you in this situation. Break up any rigid thoughts or energies that block the truth from your consciousness.

Setting Limitations On How You Contribute to the Problem:

Slow down and use this Circle to help you become aware of how you are approaching projects, plans, organizations and people that aren’t working in your best interest. If you let your thoughts slow down, you can begin to sense what is contributing to your problems. The very awareness of how you are tied into the problem reveals possible solutions.

“I slow down and pay attention… is there something about this situation that I’m missing and need to know?”

“I clarify my awareness of what I’m doing to contribute to the chaos.”

 

Dissolve any harmful thoughts or emotions that keep you ‘in the dark’. It might help to imagine those patterns like dark clouds that obstruct the light. See the darkness dissolve and dissipate into sunlight and clear blue skies.

Before you continue, seal and heal any holes that may have been hidden behind in the darkness. This positive affirmation works very well:

“All holes or leakages are sealed and healed. I head in the direction of healthy protection.”

Be sure to do that both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

“I understand the part I have played in this situation.”

 

In this lighter, clearer mind space, ask yourself:

“What makes sense to do next?” or “How can I best protect myself in this situation?”

Congratulations! You’ve taken an important first step towards protecting your Self from being dumped on. Taking the time now to understand how you have unknowingly contributed to your own suffering is truly a gift of self-love.

Extra-intuitive Activities

The following extra-intuitive activities aren’t required, but they can really help you prevent future suffering…

Note: At any point during the rest of this Transformation Game, you may need to go back to the Release Fixations section to look for and clear additional fixations. 

Start by Releasing Your Agreement to Continue Harming Yourself in Any Way:

Tell your neurological system that you are done with behavior that puts you in harm’s way. Include buying into conflicts, contradictions, obligations, “duty,” lies, trickery or someone else’s suffering.

“I release my agreement to ____________________________.”

Make a New Intention:

“I am _________________________.”

Reclaim Your Personal Power:

Affirm that you have the ability to change your behavior easily and effectively:

“I reclaim my power, attention and energy.”

Setting Limitations On Your Unconscious Attitudes and Intentions:

If you’re approaching situations with an attitude of “I’m going to fix this,” or “I’m supposed to change how this person is thinking / behaving,” you’re setting yourself up to fall into the dumper/dumpee trap. To avoid it, stay centered and focused on your own integrity.

I close the door in my mind that keeps me preoccupied with the insanity and faults of others. “

“I decide to focus on my true Self and how I can follow through on my own best interests.”

“I close the door to the maze of self-doubt, chaos and confusion.”

“I now choose freedom and integrity.”

Setting Limitations On The Direction You’re Heading:

Going in too many directions keeps you in confusion and chaos. Use this Circle to help you establish a single internal direction that will guide you in your external actions. That will help you to get where you actually want to go!

“I let go of needing to please others. I now head in the direction that connects me with my new intention.”

Gaze at this Circle for several minutes until you feel confident that you’re heading in the direction of your highest good.

Setting Limitations on How You’re Using Your Energy:

Imagine that you can form strong, healthy boundaries with this affirmation:

“I set strong limitations that block frustration, chaos and harmful energies.”

“I now access healthy nourishment and support for my highest good.”

Put your feet on the floor and ground in the truth of who you really are.

The fact that you have taken the time now to strengthen your boundaries and protect yourself from shame and blame will serve you well in the weeks and months to come.

How to Use Feng Shui For Your Home with the I Ching to Assess Your Continuing Happiness in 2019 ~

Feng shui for your home is very useful anytime you’re going through significant changes. That includes changes of the season and the New Year!

In fact, in order to avoid STAGNATION, there’s an old feng shui recommendation that twelve objects be moved or rearranged in some way at the change of every season or during other times of significant change. 

Feng Shui for Your Home

The I Ching or Book of Change works beautifully with Feng Shui because it follows and predicts movements and tendencies in the cosmos using a series of sixty-four hexagrams or energy flows. When feng shui for your home can go with the flow of life, stagnation and other energy problems can be avoided, which helps everything work better!

For example, if your home or life is in a general state of disrepair, feng shui can help you make reforms so that your environment can support you better as it suggests in this Hexagram:

“The situation will develop new energy and inspiration once the problems are removed.” Hexagram #18 REPAIR

The process of clearing and setting up the energy of your home can also help you to optimize your chances for success in all areas of your life by storing reservoirs of positive energy:

“…you have built up a strong reserve of potential energy. Good fortune.” Hexagram #26 POTENTIAL ENERGY

However, some people don’t know that feng shui can also help you to correct instability and “take apart” destructive patterns that are causing you and your family harm. Those patterns may have been a part of the family dynamic for a very long time. 

“Order can be brought to chaotic situations, Because you are now unusually familiar with the elements involved in the object of your inquiry, you can evaluate and arrange them in whatever way necessary to achieve your aim.” ~ Hexagram #64 BEFORE THE END

Once the imbalances are corrected in your environment, personal growth happens more easily and effectively. Your sense of timing improves, chaos is reduced and changes in life direction are supported. A private consultation is often the best, however, there are some things that you can do on your own. To help you, Kuan Yin has inspired this short Transformation Game…


Feng Shui for Your Home:

Going through this process can help you evaluate whether or not your home is providing a stable and healthy environment and give you some possible remedies to support your happiness.

Simply gaze softly at the symbols while you consider the questions that accompany each of them. Doing so will help you to uncover hidden information about how your prosperity or sense of “home” is being impaired (it will also work in your office).

Step One – Relax and Tune In:

Begin by getting in the correct mindset to receive intuitive information. Gaze softly at this symbol while you repeat the following affirmation for a minute or two:

“I ask my intuition to reveal hidden information about imbalances or interferences in my home that are causing me or my family harm.”

They say that intuition is easier when all of the senses are balanced. So relax with this next Circle and adjust the volume on your senses – some may be turned up too high and some too low. You can bring them into balance by adjusting the levels.

Step Two – Review the Intention for Your Home:

“The opportunity to change a situation from STAGNATION to progress is at hand. It will not happen of its own accord. A strong and continuing sense of purpose is necessary to achieve and maintain the greatest possible heights of success.” ~ Hexagram #12 STAGNATION

[You might want to get a notepad to write on and see if you can find at least twelve objects that you can move, rearrange or remove as you go through the rest of this game.]

Use this Circle to slow down some more and become aware of your actual, physical home environment. On your pad of paper, see if you can formulate a clear intention for what you would like your home to do for you at this time in your life. 

Now, briefly review each room and remind yourself about what’s really important about the function of each room. What happens there and what purpose does that room serve for you and/or the family? You might also want to think about how a change in the season might affect each room.

If your mind goes blank, or you’re having trouble accessing clear intuition, use this Circle to melt away any disharmony or resistance. It can help to imagine the room softening and moving around. Wait until your vision stabilizes.

Step Three – Get Specific:

Once you’ve briefly gone through each room and feel ready, use the wisdom from this I Ching Hexagram to move on to the questions below that will help you identify more specifics:

“Order can be brought to chaotic situations, Because you are now unusually familiar with the elements involved in the object of your inquiry, you can evaluate and arrange them in whatever way necessary to achieve your aim.” ~ Hexagram #64 BEFORE THE END

Question #1 Trust your initial response to the questions ~

“Are there pockets of negativity or STAGNATION collecting in my home?”

“If so, can I identify where they are located? Do I know what needs to be done to remedy them?”

If no, continue to Question #2.

Question #2

“Am I experiencing poor communication or lack of co-operation where I live?”

“If so, can I identify the source of where it’s coming from? Can I get an idea of what changes are needed?”

 Question #3

“Are there any objects or elements out of balance that are causing mental, emotional, financial or physical difficulties?”

“If so, can I identify how they can be brought into balance?”

“Does something need to be moved, reorganized or completely removed?”

Question #4

“Could I benefit from being more grounded and present in my own home?”

“If so, can I identify the source of what the problem is?”

“Does something need to be moved, reorganized or completely removed to help me be more grounded?”

Question #5

“Is there any interference with productivity?”

“If so, can I identify something that needs to be moved, reorganized or completely removed in order to help me be more productive?”

Question #6

“Is my health or prosperity struggling because of disharmony in my  environment?”

Does something need to be moved, reorganized or completely removed to restore harmony?”

Question #7

“Is there anything I need to know about my environment that is preventing me from heading in the right direction to accomplish my goals? Can I get a sense of what that is?”

“Is there anything I can add to enhance the love and light available in my home?”

“A change is occurring, whether in you own objectives or in the situation around you… By adapting to the realities around you at this time, you will find peace of mind and success.” ~ Hexagram #17 REPAIR

Question #8

“Is my environment safe and have adequate protection? Is there anything I need to do to be certain that it’s free from harmful or interfering energies?”

 

Question #9

You can use this Circle to review the feng shui for your home to see if you have come up with at least twelve items that can be moved, removed, or added to help accommodate the changes that you are currently experiencing.

Congratulations! You now have a lot more information about how feng shui for your home or office can be helpful in achieving your goals.

How to Achieve Your Goals for Business Using Office Feng Shui ~

As your business changes and grows, it’s important to keep some fundamental principles about office Feng Shui in mind so that your goals for success are properly supported.

Rheanni LightwaterIn this article I’m going to share several basic issues and remedies I often use when working with clients who want to know how to set up their office or studio space for success. Then, just for some added fun and insight, we’ll also use some Intuitive Learning Circles™ to help you zero in on what your intuition says about the space you work in!


Principle #1: Productivity

A smart business owner or professional pays close attention to their office or workplace environment and uses proper input to increase productivity.

What are some of the things to think about? What would a Feng Shui expert ask you? Certainly, a reliable practitioner would want to find out if something about your office is keeping you from doing your best. It’s easy to get distracted by non-essential details. You can clarify that for yourself a bit by using the Mind Exercise below.

Take a break from your busy day, slow down and see your business environment as it is right now.

This Intuitive Learning Circle™ from Gifts from the Rainforest will help you slow down, tune into your intuitive senses and clarify what’s going on. Simply gaze softly at the Circle for a few moments with a soft gaze. Relax and allow your mind to to get still.

Use these positive affirmations while you take a few breaths:

“I slow down. I choose to be calm and centered.”

It often helps to imagine that everything is moving in slow motion. Once your mind has stopped chattering, you’ll be able to focus on your business priorities with greater accuracy.

“I know what my primary business goals are.”

 

Now, turn your attention to your actual, physical working environment as it is right now:

What is your overall impression?

Do you feel productive there? Do you feel comfortable?

Does anything distract you?

If so, make a note of whatever distracts you and we’ll come back to it later.

 

 

Principle #2 Grounding

A smart business owner makes sure that they feel grounded in their working environment.

If the space is not grounded, your success is being severely compromised. It’s wise to rectify this situation as soon as possible.

Here is another Intuitive Learning Circle™ that’s about being grounded. Use it in the same way you used the previous Circle, except this time, make sure both feet are on the ground. Remember to relax and gaze at the Circle with a soft focus!

“I am well grounded in the intentions I have for my business.”

Grounding

Now, ask yourself another set of questions: “Is this room grounded? Am I able to think clearly in my environment?

Do I easily get overwhelmed?”

If you’re having a problem here, it’s a really good idea to get the room grounded. You can either get professional help or you could try standing or sitting in the middle of the space and use this affirmation while you gaze quietly at the Circle above. “I am grounded in this space.”

I also use obsidian to keep spaces grounded here in the Southwest area of the United States. Find a good size rock and place it somewhere unobtrusive as close to the center of the room as is practical.

You may have you own favorite techniques for getting grounded. Go ahead and try them. You can confirm whether it’s worked or not by looking at the Grounding Circle above again and asking, “Is the space grounded now?”

Principle #3: Support

A smart business owner makes sure that their environment supports their intention.

If you own a restaurant, you’ll want it to have an atmosphere that suits the style of eating establishment you have in mind. The needs of a fast food deli, for instance, would be quite different from a place intended for fine dining. The same goes for every kind of business – if the atmosphere doesn’t “feel” right, it’s success will be compromised. That’s one reason why it’s usually a very good idea to keep your home office out of your bedroom. Usually sleeping well and business productivity don’t mix very well.

Sometimes it’s hard to know whether you’re on track, so here is another Intuitive Learning Circle™ to help you tune into the overall “feel” of your working environment.

As you look at this Circle, imagine your space again in your mind’s eye, then ask yourself these questions: 

“Am I feeling nurtured here? Do I feel stressed here? If so, when?”

“What is distracting me from productive activities that are in the best interest of my business success?”

Remember if there’s anything about your office feng shui that’s distracting you. Use this Feng Shui Mandala for Receptivity to relax and help you formulate the changes that would help you. Ask yourself: 

“What needs to change?”

Consider moving, clearing or re-organizing whatever is distracting you.

How to use the Intuitive Learning Circles™ to consult with important books of divination like the I Ching or The Book of Change ~

The I Ching is an ancient book of divination that follows and predicts movements and energy flow in the cosmos. Intuitive readings that recognize the Tao encourage us to find our place in the cosmos and harmonize with it.

Come into alignment with the Tao – the underlying principles of Nature.

One of the best things about The Book of Change is that it’s uniquely equipped to help you understand the nature of your circumstances in relation to the ebb and flow of nature itself.

This symbol helps your mind tune into information regarding the “Tao” or the natural flow of life, which is what the Book of Change is all about.

It’s easy to do, just relax and gently contemplate coming into alignment with the Tao.

However, whenever I consult The Book of Change with the Intuitive Learning Circles™ I get very good results. With them, I am informed about key unconscious movements, concerns and decisions that need to be made within my psyche. For example, I often get forewarnings of unexpected or accidental encounters that I simply could not have been aware of on my own.

A simple sequence of Circles from Gifts from the Rainforest helps you frame a question or intention for an intuitive reading that you wouldn’t be able to formulate without a lot of experience. If you already have a particular question in mind or a choice that you’re considering, use it as a starting point.

This is the formula I use for insight into a variety of issues including health, timing and healing emotional dilemmas:


Activate Intuition

Begin by slowing down, so that you can get in better touch with the best intention for your reading. Gaze softly at this Intuitive Learning Circle™ for slowing down with an affirmation like:

“I slow down and bring my attention in, towards what’s truly important at this time.” 

 

Mind Body IntegrationContinue enhancing intuition by bringing your senses into balance. Some may be turned up too high and some may be too low. Relax and allow your eyes to rest gently on the Circle below.

Take some deep breaths and let your shoulders drop. Adjust the volume to your senses. Do that both crossed and uncrossed over the midline of your body.

 

While gazing softly at this next Circle, sort through your mind like you would sort through a pile of messy papers on your desk when you’re looking for something. You come across a really important piece of paper that you didn’t know was there. Use the Circle to help you find it and pull it out.

Clarify Intention

Move your attention to this next Circle and ask your gut:

“What do I need clarity about?”

Be patient and wait for information or an intention to emerge. Whatever comes up, make a note of it. Unconscious information often doesn’t make sense at first. Usually, it’s a general subject, possibly one that isn’t currently on your radar. Go with it and refrain from trying to force things or second guess yourself.

Continue your investigation. What concerns you about this issue?

Hopefully, by now more details are emerging from the unconscious mind and you’re more aware of them. If you sense an important Soul issue, go to a Circle from Soul Prayer Charts to help you know what it is. Pick #1-24.

Determine the Emotional Environment

Is there a particular emotion(s) that’s causing distress?

Are you holding that emotion towards yourself? Towards others or others to self?

Is there a decision about yourself that you need to change?

An attitude, compulsion, obsession, or phobia?

Choose An I Ching Hexagram

The symbol below is from SOS Soul Oriented Solutions and can be used to go through any list of possible choices where you want your Soul to help you find the opening to a solution and determine what process will help you the best. All you need to be is open and ask for true assistance. It’s especially good at helping you make a choice, fine tune your intuition and listen to your gut feelings.

In the case of the Book of Change, there are sixty-four hexagrams that might have useful information for you. So gaze at the SOS symbol and experiment with it. Remember that in this case, you’re looking for information or advice that will help you deal with the situation you just came up with.

What number between 1 – 64 comes to you first? Follow your inner guidance. If your mind is blocked or blank go here>

SOS - Soul Oriented Solutions

Whatever number comes to you, open your Book of Change and go to that Hexagram. You might need to read the whole commentary or just a portion of it. There are also what is called “changing lines” and you might be guided to read one of those. It could even be just one sentence!

Once you’ve read the advice, you may understand the message immediately or you might want to continue to get an even more detailed understanding.

Synchronicity

For example, perhaps you’d like more information about timing or how to synchronize your response in the most effective way.

 

This symbol is about timing and synchronization. Let your mind gently contemplate the symbol. Remember, no forcing! The more relaxed you are, the better this works.

 

 

 

The whole point of consulting the I Ching is to help you see your situation clearly so that you’re able to make an effective plan for handling it. As you look at the Circle below, ask yourself: “In this situation, what is the best timing for effective action?”

or “How long will this period of time go on?”

 

“Is there any danger present now?”

“If so, will it pass on it’s own or should I do something?”

 

“What can I do specifically to help myself?”

“Is there a number in the I Ching that can help me with that?”

If a hexagram number between 1-64 comes to you, go to that hexagram and do what you did earlier – read the portions that come up as important. If a number doesn’t come up, continue on with the question below.

 

“What do I need to do now?”

and “How might I go about doing it?”

You may get a clear answer through the Circle itself or you could be given another hexagram number and/or changing line. It may be the same or it may be different. Keep following this line of questioning until you feel satisfied with your answers. Write them down so you don’t forget.

How To Be More Intuitive

This Mind Exercise* is about how to be more intuitive. Let’s start with the definition of intuition that I like to use:

“Intuition is an inner knowing available to us when all of the senses, known and unknown are balanced and able to receive information that is usually filtered out by the conscious mind.”

To have your own experience with how to be more intuitive, let’s go through this simple series of Intuitive Learning Circles™. They’ve been put together to help you relax, contemplate the nature of intuition and integrate the information.

Mind Body Integration

Mind Body IntegrationThe brain and body communicate through different channels when a part of you is crossed over the center of your body. If you feel resistant or stuck, cross or uncross a hand or foot over the midline of your body and go back to the Circle, breathing patiently. See if your thinking starts to move again. Let negative self-talk go by breathing through it.


Simply read the instructions and then follow through on the directions while you gaze softly at the Circle.

Step One: Slow down. Stop being in such a hurry.

It will help to imagine you can bring all the energy into focus on the center, open space of each Intuitive Learning Circle™.

 

Step Two: Let your senses get balanced. Some may be turned up too high and some too low.

You can adjust them like a radio dial until it feels just right.

 

Step Three: Intuition is an internal thing. Focus in on your heart center and let the energy get balanced and open there.

 

Step Four: Make sure you’re centered and balanced in your solar plexus as well (your solar plexus is that soft area in the front where your ribs go up.).

 

Step Five: In this quiet and more centered place, ask a simple question that you want guidance about. Listen for the answer.

What is your inner guidance?

Intuition is simple and straightforward, so if you’re getting a big convoluted answer, that probably isn’t intuition. Be patient and go through the exercise again.

Once you get a heartfelt answer, congratulations! You have accessed your intuition! You might want to make a note of what you came up with. The critical mind often doesn’t like to remember the quieter, gentler voice of intuition.

Future Pacing

In our hypnotherapy and energy medicine classes, we talk about the importance of future pacing. What is that?

Future pacing is a way to deepen the effects of any mind body healing by projecting a preferred outcome into the future. Let’s use that idea to solidify what you’ve just learned about how to be more intuitive.

Intuition out of balanceRemember that when intuition is out of balance, it tries to define “perfection” in extremes, which gives rise to fantasy, hallucination and wishful thinking. 

Let’s head that kind of intuition off at the pass right now!

Use these symbols and positive affirmations from The Essential Human to access the very best qualities to nurture your intuitive talents.

“I close the door on turmoil, panic and chaos. I now access serenity and calm.”

 

“I release my focus on conflict. I now open to peaceful and prosperous solutions.”

 

“I close the doors in my mind that lead to grumpy, hopeless, sarcastic or cynical behavior. I am now confident and resolute.”

 

“I release impatience, distractions and confusion. My actions now have purpose.”

INTEGRATION

Imagine that you can access your beneficial karma for being more intuitive. Gather all your good deeds in the center, blank area of this Circle.

“I access my beneficial karma for actualizing balanced and helpful intuition.”

“I plant new karmic seeds for the conditions I need to be more intuitive and to accomplish my heartfelt goals.” 

Completion

The mind intuitively appreciates closure. Let’s get present and grounded as we complete this mind exercise.

Place both feet on the floor and put your hands on your knees if you can. Gaze softly at the Circle and repeat the affirmation until you feel your body has fully settled in the present.

“I am grounded in the present.”

 

Ask yourself:

How will it feel to access my intuition in the future?

What about later today or tomorrow?

A month from now?

How does it feel a year from now?

Congratulations!

You can thank yourself for taking the time today to learn how to be more intuitive – a gift that will make your life a whole lot better!

Bring the energy of gratitude in towards the center and let it connect with your heart.

Finish it all up now by sealing and healing any pathways or holes that lead back to old, harmful patterns or suffering.
